By Edwin Arlington Robinson
Dark hills at evening in the west,
Where sunset hovers like a sound
Of golden horns that sang to rest
Old bones of warriors under ground,
Far now from all the bannered ways
Where flash the legions of the sun,
You fade—as if the last of days
Were fading, and all wars were done.
Parting At Morning
by Robert Browning
Round the cape of a sudden came the sea,
And the sun look’d over the mountain’s rim:
And straight was a path of gold for him,
And the need of a world of men for me.
East wind breezes softly to wake the spring vigor,
Sweet mist blurs the moonshine through the corridor,
Fearing the flower cannot sit up into the night,
I lit a candle, to shine its charming beauty bright.
